A massive congratulations to Sam!

The Chestnuts

Just before Easter, Sam took part in a sponsored ride to raise money for his much-loved riding group, Quest RDA (Riding for the Disabled). He raised an incredible Β£700, and together the group raised approximately Β£16,000 to help keep their sessions going.

Sam has been riding with Quest for many years. His horse, Tonka, is a huge part of his life. Riding is more than just an activity for him. It brings freedom, purpose and joy.

Riding offers so many benefits for people with disabilities. It helps improve balance, coordination and core strength. Just as importantly, it builds confidence, independence and emotional wellbeing. The connection between horse and rider is something truly special and often life-changing.

Quest is a lifeline for many people. It’s a small charity with no government funding, and it costs around Β£60,000 a year just to keep going. Every session is made possible thanks to the generosity of supporters and the dedication of volunteers who give their time freely.

Sam’s mum said, β€œI am so proud of him.” We all are. He rode with heart and determination, and his fundraising will help ensure others can experience the same joy and opportunity that he does.
